Welcome to the INAUGURAL 1ST MALAYSIAN         INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL STUDENTS CONFERENCE 2009

The Society of Medical Students, Malaysian Medical Association will be hosting the 1st Malaysian International Medical Students Conference. It shall be held from the 4th till the 6th of Seprember 2009 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

This Conference will be a progression from the Malaysian Medical Students Conference (MMSC), as we open our doors further to International Medical Students and young doctors. The host of the conference is the Society of Malaysia Medical Association Medical Students (SMMAMS)which is formed by a group of medical students from various universities in Malaysia.

This year's theme, Peace, war and Natural Calamities comes in a time where there has been many disaster, either peacetime or war related in the world. Although Malaysia has been in peacetime for a long time, and so is a large majority of the world, doctors have to always be prepared to face any eventuality.

This year's conference, similar to the Malaysian Medical Students's Conference of previous years, will see a combination of

  • Scientific Presentations
  • Workshops
  • Open Forums
  • Plenary speakers
  • Social events

All sessions during the conference would be conducted in English. As such, all posters and oral presentations should also be done in English.

The MIMS Conference will be organized by a team of very dedicated medical students to bring you a very memorable conference and pleasant stay in Malaysia. Come and experience for yourself Malaysian Hospitality and a unique conference which is academic and scientific oriented.

All of us in the organizing committee bid you a very warm Selamat Datang, or welcome, to both Malaysian and foreign delegates and we hope to see you this coming September.

Welcome
