You are invited to apply to present a Paper and Poster Presentation at the 1st Malaysian International Medical Students’ Conference on September 2009. There are four categories:

There will be a total of 3 prizes per category. We have a panel of highly qualified jury of internationa standard which will come from several Malaysian univesities as well as from world body organizations.
There shall be 2 categories of oral presentations:
1. Based on the theme of the conference "Peace, war and Natural Calamities: the doctor in Conflict"
2. Free medical topics based on medical disciplines
Abstract Requirements:
Participants should submit a one page abstract (summary) of the proposed oral presentation via email by 15th July 2009 via this website's abstract submission form in order to be properly processed. Abstracts should have the title, author, name of institute/affiliation, contact information. The abstract of the paper's primary author should be listed first, followed by all other authors in alphabetical order. Abstract text of not more than 200 words – includes four sections (introduction, methods, results and discussion).
Time Limit for presentation:
Presenters will be given a maximum of 8 minutes to present their work and a further 2 minutes will be allocated for question and answer sessions. The speaker will have to stop his presentation at the prescribe time, in the interest of time constrants.
We expect presenters to spend a minimum time to discuss data/methodology/background material and more time towards scientific findings. Try and conclude the presentation with your most important scientific finding(s).
Oral Presentation topics may be clinical or research (basic or clinical) related. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and other costs during the preparation of the presentation.

Time Limit:
All paper presenters will have 5 minutes to present their poster and 2 minutes for questions & answers. Audience and judges might stop you and ask questions during your presentation. Because of the tight schedule you will not be allowed to continue any longer than the allotted time.
Display Guidelines:
Accepted Poster Presentations should be formatted on paper or laminated poster presentations measuring no greater than 40 inches tall and 20 inches wide (Portrat formatting). The poster must contain the title of paper, author’s & co-authors’s full name and contact details including name of institution/affiliation, telephone, email, abstract of the paper, together with other relevant information.
Display Board:
The conference organizers will provide poster boards, a sign with poster number and push pins. The posters have to conform to the assigned poster board number. Please make sure the title of the poster is clearly displayed at the top of the center panel.
